Obama: Ebola Threatens Profound Implications

Ebola implications
President Barack Obama has warned of "profound implications" if the world does not act to stop the ebola outbreak in West Africa, as he sent 3,000 US troops to the region. On Tuesday's visit to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Georgia, President Barack Obama outlined measures to prop up health services in areas overwhelmed by the epidemic. He said it was the largest international response in the history of the federal agency, while stressing that the chances of an outbreak in the US were "extremely low". The virus has claimed more than 2,400 lives this year - mostly in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea.
