He said he did it to protest against poor customer service at a local dealership in Gwangju. In the video, Yu was seen hitting the German luxury sedan, worth about half a million dollars, with a golf club in front of Shin Sung Motors, a Mercedes dealership in Gwangju. Yu had requested the dealership to exchange or refund the amount he paid for the car, due to engine problems. He added the car had already been serviced several times, but was not fixed.
