PARIS - 'Vertical soccer game' takes place on Hotel de Ville in Paris



With the Euro 2016 set to start in France in three weeks, dancers from "Les passagers" dance troupe treated crowds in Paris' Hotel de Ville to a performance of 'vertical soccer'. The performers, dressed as footballers, appeared to defy gravity as they traveled up and down the grass-covered terrain, suspended from harnesses at the top.
However, hidden behind the pitch, their colleagues worked hard acting as counterweights, allowing the players to move up and down with ease.

MH017 CRASH - Victims families sue Russia and President Putin



The families of victims of downed Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 have launched a lawsuit against Russia and its President Vladimir Putin. 
The legal action, filed in the European Court of Human Rights, is seeking almost nine million euros in compensation for each passenger killed. In all, 33 next of kin, from Australia, New Zealand and Malaysia are suing the Russian state and its leader. The claim is reportedly based on the passengers right to life.

SPACE - Indian space shuttle makes first test flight



India has successfully launched an experimental spacecraft it hopes will form the basis of its own re-usable space shuttle. ISRO launched the vehicle on a rocket from its facility north of Chennai. 
The $15 million dollar test craft was carried to an altitude of 70 kilometers after which it reentered the Earth's atmosphere, exposing it to temperatures up to 2000 degrees Celsius.

Over 60 feared killed as blasts hit near Russian military bases in Syria’s Latakia province


Over 60 people are feared dead after seven blasts targeted several locations in the coastal towns of Jableh and Tartus, Syira’s Latakia province, according to media reports. The locations are close to two Russian military facilities: the Khmeimim airbase and the Tartus naval base.Unconfirmed reports say the joint death toll from the attacks in two towns may be as high as 110 people. Islamist group Ahrar ash-Sham al-Islamiyya has taken responsibility for the blasts in both Jableh and Tartus.
