Anonymous should leave ISIS cyberwar to professionals
International hacker group Anonymous should leave its cyberwar effort against Islamic State to the authorities, who are better able to deal with the terrorists’ internet activities, a NATO security official has said.
The war on Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIL/ISIS) declared by Anonymous is “good to some degree,” NATO Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Emerging Security Challenges, Dr Jamie Shea, told Euronews.
Because of Anonymous' efforts, “ISIL sees that it is not just against the governments and organs of the state, but is against all of the values our population represents,” Shea said.
The jihadists are using the world-wide web as a tool for communication, recruitment and fundraising, with IS managing some 46,000 Twitter accounts, Shea acknowledged.

Call to reinstate death penalty for terrorism by Russian leftist leader

E' in corso una sparatoria all'hotel Radisson Blue di Bamako, capitale del Mali. Gli assalitori hanno preso almeno 170 persone in ostaggio (140 ospiti e 30 persone dello staff), ha detto a NBC News un portavoce del gruppo Carlson Rezidor.
"L'hotel è sbarrato e nessuno può entrare dentro o uscire". A 'sigillare' l'albergo - continua - sono stati gli assalitori stessi, e non "la polizia o altre forze di sicurezza". La società sta lavorando per stilare una lista dei nomi degli ostaggi presi e delle loro nazionalità. L'ambasciata Usa ha diramato un allerta in cui chiede ai cittadini americani, compreso il suo staff, di mettersi al sicuro.

A 190-room luxury Radisson hotel in Bamako, Mali, West Africa, is reportedly under attack from jihadists. Shooting and blasts are heard, and a hostage situation is under way, a security source tells AFP.
Witnesses at the scene have reported that the attackers arrived in a diplomatic vehicle, and are now “walking quietly”around seven stories of the hotel.
