ITALIA - Violentata nel vicolo dietro al Duomo Soccorsa all’alba sulle scale del metrò

Un locale del divertimento, forse una discoteca ma senza precisi riferimenti sul nome, l’indirizzo o quantomeno il quartiere. Un vicolo forse nelle vicinanze del Duomo. Infine uno dei pochi dati certi: gli scalini del metrò di San Babila dove ieri mattina alle sette e mezza, ubriaca, in lacrime, con un principio di congelamento e il rischio un imminente collasso, alcuni passanti hanno trovato una ragazza. E la ragazza ha raccontato che per appunto in un vicolo sarebbe stata violentata da un ragazzo, forse inglese, conosciuto proprio nel locale. Indaga la polizia.

Sono tutti a volto scoperto i jihadisti che hanno brutalmente decapitato 17 soldati ostaggi di Isis. Vader van mogelijke IS-beul: Hij moet wel geestesziek zijn

Terreurorganisatie Islamitische Staat bracht gisteren een nieuwe videouit, waarin de Amerikaanse hulpverlener Peter Kassig en een groep van 18 Syrische gevangenen worden onthoofd. De moordenaar van Kassig, vermoedelijk Jihadi John, was gemaskerd. Alle andere beulen werden herkenbaar in beeld gebracht. Zo denkt de vader van een Britse student zijn zoon te herkennen en heeft het Franse ministerie van Binnenlandse Zaken sterke vermoedens dat de 22-jarige Syriëganger Maxime Auchard in de video te zien is.

Baby body parts found in Thailand parcel

The body parts of several babies have been found in a parcel destined for the United States, Thai police have said.

A baby's head, several feet and "sheets of skin" - including one taken from an adult that was bearing a large tattoo - were discovered over the weekend, police said, after staff at a Bangkok parcel company scanned the package.

"They were not from one body but were in small pieces," Police chief Chawalit Prasopsin told the AFP news agency on Sunday.

"They have been sent for forensic examination to confirm if they were from babies who died after delivery or in the womb," Chawalit said. 

The parts were found preserved in containers filled with formaldehyde solution, leading Chawalit to speculate they could be for "a collection or for educational purposes".

Police said they are investigating but did not reveal further details of where the packaged was addressed to in the US. Local media reported it was destined for an address in Las Vegas, Nevada. 

In 2012, Thai police discovered six human foetuses, which had been roasted and covered in gold leaf as part of an apparent black magic ritual.

The grisly discovery was made in the luggage of a British citizen of Taiwanese origin. They were due to be sent to Taiwan.

Máxima met spoed naar zieke vader in Argentinië

Koningin Máxima is zaterdag met spoed naar Argentinië gevlogen om haar zieke vader Jorge Zorreguieta in het ziekenhuis te bezoeken. Dat meldt de website Royalty van journalist Marc van der Linden op basis van berichten in Argentijnse media. Zorreguieta's toestand zou volgens deze berichten ernstig zijn.

Volgens de site Diario Veloz ondergaat Zorreguieta (86) in het ziekenhuis Fundaleu in Buenos Aires een behandeling tegen leukemie. Deze kliniek is gespecialiseerd in het behandelen van kanker. Máxima zou gistermorgen plaatselijke tijd bij het ziekenhuis zijn aangekomen.

Bird flu: EU urgent meeting after Netherlands outbreak

The European Commission is to discuss emergency protective measures after a highly contagious strain of bird flu was discovered at a poultry farm in the Netherlands. The commission will hold an urgent meeting on Monday to look at how to contain the outbreak. The Dutch government said the strain, H5N8, could potentially affect humans. The authorities have already begun destroying 150,000 hens at the infected farm, in the village of Hekendorp.

Europe storms: Fatal landslides as rains batter Italy and Switzerland

Storms and heavy rains have battered parts of Italy and Switzerland, causing a number of fatalities. Four people died after torrential downpours triggered landslides on both sides of the border, and streets and fields have flooded.

The area has received more rain in a few days than would normally be expected in a year, with more forecast for the next 36 hours.
