The Islamic State has boasted of giving Yazidi women and children captured in northern Iraq to its fighters as spoils of war in the latest issue of its propaganda magazine Dabiq. In it the terror group admits for the first time that it sells captured Yazidis as slaves. Leaders of the minority group, many of whom have fled their homes in northern Iraq due to the four-month-old insurgency, warned in August the community faced genocide. The treatment of the Yazidis, who number in the tens of thousands, has sparked outrage across the globe.

Lo Stato islamico si è vantato di dare donne yazidi e bambini catturati nel nord dell'Iraq per i suoi combattenti come bottino di guerra, come si legge nell'ultimo numero della sua rivista di propaganda Dabiq. In esso il gruppo terroristico ammette per la prima volta che si vende gli yazidi catturati come schiavi. I leaders del gruppo di minoranza, molti dei quali hanno abbandonato le loro case nel nord dell'Iraq a causa dei quattro mesi di insurrezione, ha avvertito nel mese di agosto la comunità di fronte al genocidio che si sta perpetrando. Il trattamento dei Yazidi, che si contano a decine di migliaia, ha suscitato indignazione in tutto il mondo.
