Questa sera alle ore 21 italiane si riunisce a New York il consiglio dell'ONU per discutere della emergenza Ebola. Con la morte del cittadino africano dipendente dell'ONU in Lipsia, il numero dei casi con decesso sale a 4500, ovvero il 50% dei 9000 contagiati. L'Organizzazione Mondiale della Sanità comunica che le attuali ricerche stabiliscono la possibilità di contagiare tramite rapporto sessuale anche 7 settimane dopo la guarigione, inquantochè è stato trovato il virus vitale sia nel latte materno che nello sperma di persone con sangue privo del virus e clinicamente guarite.
Permane grave lo stato dell'infermiera contagiata in Texas, mentre il caso ricoverato a Bruxelles apparentemente non ha più febbre e pare non debba trattarsi di Ebola.
