France's burkini ban suspended by top administrative court
France’s highest administrative court has suspended the burkini ban imposed by several cities on public beaches.
The ban "seriously, and clearly illegally, breached the fundamental freedoms to come and go, the freedom of beliefs and individual freedom,” the ruling said.
The top administrative court, called Le Conseil d'Etat (the State Council), made the ruling public Friday, ahead of the official announcement, which is to provide the full legal base behind it.
