US human trafficking report criticised for Thai upgrade

The US has released its annual report grading foreign governments on their efforts to fight human trafficking.
According to the US State Department, Myanmar tops the list as the worst offender. However, activists are criticizing the State Department’s decision to upgrade Thailand, arguing diplomatic concerns are taking priority over efforts to combat human suffering.
