At least 8 killed, over 30 injured as car bomb blast rocks eastern Baghdad
A heavy blast was reported in Baghdad’s Al-Jidida, an eastern district of the Iraqi capital, on Wednesday morning. Police said at least eight people were killed and more than 30 injured.
A car bomb is suspected behind the blast, Reuters said citing police. The blast targeted a commercial street.
Pictures and footage posted online reveal a huge column of black smoke billowing over the area.
