A police SWAT team has rescued a woman and 11 children from a knife-wielding man, who took them hostage at a hotel in DeKalb County, Georgia, early on Tuesday. The man stabbed himself in the neck and was taken to hospital in a critical condition, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. The situation began around 2am in a room at the Rite4Us Inn & Suites and lasted for five hours, according to DeKalb County Police Major Tonya Dedrick. A man holed himself up inside the room after a domestic dispute with a woman, she said.
