London police are under fire for failing to stop a man walking through Parliament Square on Sunday wrapped in the distinctive flag of the Islamic State (formerly ISIS/ISIL) while carrying a child on his shoulders waving a smaller version of the flag.
Photographs of the incident were initially posted on a Korean web forum, sparking a social media backlash. It comes just over a week after 30 Britons were massacred in Sousse, Tunisia, by an Islamic State terrorist and mere days before the 10-year anniversary of the 7/7 London bombings. The Metropolitan Police said its officers had witnessed the incident, but said carrying the flag was not unlawful.
