Rotterdam è la migliore città in Europa per viverci. Lo dichiara la stampa olandese riprendendo quanto dichiarato dall' Accademia Urbanistica Inglese che a Maasstad Venerdì ha ordinato un premio sulla Urbanistica delle citta. Dietro Rotterdam si e' classificata la città danese di Aarhus e quella italiana di Torino.
"La città ha una giovane, aperta, architettura tollerante e un design urbano innovativo che abbraccia nuovi modelli di business. La strategia è quella di attrarre le famiglie e le imprese al centro della città con le case, ottimi collegamenti di trasporto e di uno spazio pubblico vivace ", spiega Steven Ape, dell' Academy, del fascino di Rotterdam. Egli loda la forte leadership del sindaco Ahmed Abou Taleb.
Gli altri premi di Urbanistica sono stati dati a Gran Bretagna, quale posto migliore, il quartiere migliore, la migliore strada e il posto migliore.
Rotterdam is de beste stad in Europa om in te leven. Dat vindt de Britse denktank Academy of Urbanism, die de Maasstad vrijdag daarom een Urbanism Award gaf. Rotterdam liet de Deense stad Aarhus en het Italiaanse Turijn achter zich.
„De stad heeft een jonge, open, tolerante gemeenschap die vernieuwende architecteur en stedelijk ontwerp en nieuwe bedrijfsmodellen omarmt. De strategie is om families en bedrijven naar het centrum te trekken met huizen, uitstekend openbaar vervoer en een levendige publieke ruimte”, zo legt Steven Bee van de Academy de charme van Rotterdam uit. Hij prijst het 'sterke leiderschap' van burgemeester Ahmed Aboutaleb.
De andere Urbanism Awards gingen naar Groot-Brittannië: de beste plaats, de beste buurt, de beste straat en de beste plek.
