A suicide bomb attack at a Shi’ite mosque in Kuwait City has left several people dead. The group calling itself the Islamic State says it was behind the attack. The blast came during Friday prayers at the Imam Sadiq mosque in the neighborhood to the east of the center of Kuwait City. Eyewitnesses say there were up to 2,000 people in the building at the time of the explosion. At least 13 people have been killed and many more injured. Sunni-governed Kuwait has a large Shia minority, which IS considered to be heretics.
