British actor Patrick Macnee has died aged 93.He is best known for his starring role in the 1960s TV series The Avengers. Macnee played the part of Jon Steed in the British spy series alongside actresses Diana Rigg, Joanna Lumley and Honor Blackman. The show continues to be broadcast around the world. Following the end of The Avengers, Macnee appeared in several other television series. He died of natural causes at his home in California, according to a statement.
