Rare footage: Moment of baby sea otter birth

Monterey Bay Aquarium researchers and visitors got a rare glimpse of a sea otter birth on Saturday, March 5. 
A pregnant sea otter took shelter in the aquarium’s Great Tidal Pool during the storms that battered California before she gave birth, according to aquarium officials.
Aquarium officials also said the mother started grooming the pup right away to help it stay buoyant and keep it warm.
