Watch as small fire transforms into tree-consuming blaze in seconds

Teams at Olympic National Park in Washington have been battling to contain a wildfire, sparked by a lightning strike in May, which has already burned through 1,500 acres of land. Full containment of the wildfire is not expected until September, and the fire has been burning since a lightning strike on May 15. 
This video, released yesterday (June 8), shows the wildfire spreading in a matter of seconds, as the dried lichen on a tree ignites. The lichen carries the fire up the tree and then drops to the ground, lighting the brush on fire.
