ll Papa ha ricevuto il cardinale australiano George Pell, prefetto degli Affari economici del Vaticano, il quale solo poche ore prima aveva testimoniato, in videoconferenza dalla Sala Verdi dall'Hotel Quirinale a Roma, davanti alla Commissione d'inchiesta australiana in merito agli abusi sessuali su minori negli anni 1970 e 1980.

Corea del Nord: studente Usa arrestato a Pyongyang chiede clemenza
Ha chiesto perdono in lacrime per il peggior errore della sua vita. Otto Warmbier, studente statunitense di 21 anni dell'Università della Virginia, è stato arrestato a gennaio in Corea del Nord.
Il giovane ha confessato di aver tentato di rubare un poster della propaganda dall'area riservata al personale dell'hotel in cui alloggiava. È accusato di "atto ostile contro lo Stato".

Russia: Moscow nanny shouting Islamic slogans takes decapitated child's head to Metro station
A woman dressed all in black and holding what is thought to be a child’s severed head has been arrested near a metro station in Moscow. She was shouting, “I am a terrorist,” and reportedly threatened to blow herself up.
The victim was a girl, identified as Nastya M. After the murder, the female suspect went to a metro station, where she was stopped by a local police officer. She immediately took the severed child’s head from her bag and started shouting that she had killed the child. The suspect is currently being detained by police authorities, Russian media reported.
“The end of the world is coming in a second…I’m your death,” the woman is heard shouting in the video released online. “I hate democracy. I’m a terrorist.”
She is heard shouting that she has been “cursed” and “destroyed” “so many times.”
“I'm your suicide bomber… I'm going to die in a second…The end of the world…,” she shouted.
The woman appeared near Oktyabrskoye Pole metro station in northwest Moscow.

Italy flies in Syrian refugees via air 'humanitarian corridor'
Italy has been accepting groups of Syrian refugees, flying them in by plane and sparing them the risk of dangerous sea and border crossings. The first arrivals were greeted on February 4. On Monday another group of 93 flew into Rome airport on a commercial flight from Beirut. The refugees had been living in camps in Lebanon after fleeing the civil war; they have been granted humanitarian visas.
